When the American design style transformer was first introduced to China, it enjoyed the advantages of the compact design and high maintainability. This design style was quickly adopted as one of the design standards. As the application requirements changed, the design could no longer satisfy all the features the market calls for. BKE quickly spearheaded innovative design to incorporate new features to the American design style transformers.

　　BKE's transformer offers larger lower-voltage chamber, allowing the installment of meter, indicators and communications gears, configurable number of coil-out lines and many more improvements. The following features are in our standard design:
　　(1) Sealed and fully insulated oil tank, ensuring work safety/ the crews are free from the fear of being too close to a transformer.
　　(2) Inserting and pulling cable connector can be performed when the unit is energized;
　　(3) Having enough air space to work with and still compact, only about half of the volume of a European Style transformer.
　　(4) Configurable to loop or radial network reliably and safely.
　　(5) Upgradable to integratable into a distribution automation system by adding remote terminal unit (RTU) and the remote controller.
